Sakura season is finally here

I have been waiting to be able to write this post since the day we landed in Japan and today is finally the day!!!

All around Asia the cherry blossoms (sakura trees) are blooming meaning it is officially Spring in this neck of the woods. This is our first season here and Y'all...... IT IS BEAUTIFUL!

You hear about it all year long but until you see it in person you have no idea how amazing it really is. They only bloom for about 2 weeks and then they fall off and if it is windy or rainy you don't even get that long because they are so delicate. Thankfully they are all over Yokota so I get to see them every single day they are here. I will look forward to spring every year just for these couple of weeks...and of course the amazing weather

All week I have been walking around the base, admiring and taking pictures and I am not alone. The streets are filled with people taking pictures, walking dogs and just sitting on the sidewalk enjoying the beauty

There isn't much more to do but to leave you with the gorgeousness that is the sakura tree

  5. Oh wow, stunning! And I imagine even more magical looking in person :) When they are done blooming, are the trees just bare the rest of the year?
