Well hello there Friday

Happy Friday y'all! It's been another slow week for me thanks to a crazy work schedule for Isaac so I've just been doing some organizing, relaxing and playing at the park with Logan. We've been in Japan almost a month and everything is still new and shiny to us here but it's been slow enough lately to stop and think about the little things we miss from home. Now don't get me wrong we all are falling in love with this beautiful country full of amazing people and we are so grateful to have these opportunities that others don't get but sometimes a girl just wants to reminisce. This Friday I'll still be doing my favorite five but it'll be my favorite things from the states that we're missing the most here in Japan

           1. In N Out
I know you can find awesome burgers all over the world but man oh man if you've been there you know there is NOTHING in this world like a double double, fries and a shake. I didn't eat there every week but a good trip once a month could hold us over. Well it's been about a month so that would explain why that is numero uno on this little list of mine

 2. Target
There aren't many people in this world that don't love Target and I there I am positive that we are not friends. Target is my happy place and basically ground zero for all shopping needs and everything wonderful in the world and I am going through some major withdrawal. No number of 100 yen stores or H&M trips can make it better and online shopping just isn't the same.

 3. DVR
Okay seriously this probably goes without saying but for those that don't know me yet I watch A LOT of television. A LOT. They show some of my shows on AFN on occasion (like parenthood, modern family, the bachelor, guys grocery games, the getaway) but you can't guarantee they will show it every week and that it'll always be at a good time. Hulu works for some things but not all shows are on there since I have a rather unhealthy relationship with reality shows and daytime talk shows. Thank goodness for Friends on Netflix because right now that's the only thing taking my mind off it my lack of DVR and cable.

 4. My sister (and nephews)
Even though we have lived in different states and now countries since I was 18 years old I have always been able to call my (favorite) sister all the time. I mean we talked on her lunch break, on my way to and from work, on breaks, when we were frustrated, well lets just say all the time. When we moved to California last January I was happy to get to spend a year with her before moving to Japan but an awesome job opportunity took her and her family (and my mom and other sister followed) to Arizona and we were back to phone call besties and phone tag. This 16 hour time difference is really jacking up our phone relationship (and Logan misses his cousins) but hey she can always follow the blog right?

 5. The Beach/view from our last house
If you follow me on instagram you know that we lived right on the beach last year kind of as an "I'm sorry I have to move away to Korea but at least you won't be too bored and the weather won't be too bad" gift from my wonderful husband. I will never get over that view and since we no longer live on the beach I am sorely missing soaking up the sun almost every day

Linking up with a ton of Friday posts as usual (Don't judge me I LOVE blog hops and link ups) soooooo click here to see where I'm linking up!

    1. I always seem to crave it when I am nowhere near one. Living in SC I wanted it all the time but Living in CA I didn't crave it as much. Crazy Crazy

  3. So jealous of that view you had! I've only had In N Out once & I really wasn't a huge fan. I know...I'm probably the only one ha. It was good but not "OMG best fast ever" good to me.

    1. My husband feels the same way so you are not alone! He likes it and will eat it but doesn't have these In N Out Cravings haha I grew up in California and so In N Out was just a part of life and he didn't so I attribute it to that lol

  4. I would go with crazy withdrawl if I lost my DVR too. I know for sure Id miss that view & the beach too if I had to leave that. Oh and Im from Vancouver, & target just announced that they are closing all 133 stores since no one shops at Target in Canada apparently - which is sad, but atleast they will have amazing clearance sales soon!

    1. How could they take away something so wonderful after they brought into your life haha That is cruel! I can't imagine there being a target and people not shopping there but I am sure you have other options there as well. You've got to make sure you take advantage of those awesome sales they will be having! Thanks for reading Stephanie!

  5. We talked on Twitter a few weeks back. I was wondering how you were adjusting to life in Japan. I'd miss Target too.

    1. Hi Shani! We did talk on twitter! How have you been?! We're adjusting great but still in an inbetween state I guess. Not having a Target is by far my biggest sacrifice haha

  6. Hello there from San Diego. Air Force Brat and Navy Wife here. While I admit I will never understand the In N Out thing (I really don't like their food) I do love me some Target. I travel to Japan for work and really enjoy it there. Hope you have a great time exploring the country and their wonderful people! (I followed you from Twitter).
